David Ku, PhD, MD

Dr. Ku has degrees from Harvard, Georgia Tech and received his MD from Emory School of Medicine. His post graduate clinical training was at the University of Chicago in Vascular Surgery and is on the faculty at Emory Medical School and Georgia Tech. After seeing patients for 20 years, Dr. Ku focused on researching the mechanisms of heart attacks and strokes and has started multiple medical device companies. His patented inventions include a knee cartilage replacement, an artificial spinal disk, meniscus, vein valve, and he has developed computer-based systems for the diagnosis of breast cancer and COVID-19 incidence.
Dr. Ku now teaches entrepreneurship and product development to bring technological solutions to the bedside. His work is supported by the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and the American Heart Association.
